As soon as you reach the unit, you are on orientation level for the first 24 hours. After that, you are on achievement level. If you cause any trouble, you either get your level dropped to restriction or get anywhere from 24 to 72 hours on "LOCK-UP" (time in your room without coming out). We need to be seen by a judge for an initial arraignment and then every 30 days after that for monthly reviews (every 21 days for kids who haven't been sentenced yet). Instead of driving to court though, we have VTC (Video TelaConferencing). This is basically satellite TV where we can see the judge and they can see us. This way, we don't have to physically appear in court when we are here. |
